Client profile

A Hong Kong-headquartered payments technology company scaling in-person payments and POS services across Japan.

Business challenge

Two very different functions had to stand up at the same time: a field sales team to win merchants, and technical support to keep installed POS estates running. Neither a Japanese hiring pipeline nor an employment and payroll operation was in place, and each city needed only a handful of people — the hardest shape of all to hire for.

What we delivered

TAC ran the two tracks in parallel. Six sales people were placed across Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, and four POS technical support engineers across Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka, delivered in Japan under our licensed worker dispatch (派13-318670). Employment contracts, payroll, social and labour insurance and labour administration sat with TAC, while day-to-day work direction stayed with the client. Where people settled well, temp-to-perm conversion into the client's own employment was available.

Delivery method

01

Align business outcomes

Clarify growth, market-entry or delivery objectives before translating them into organisation and role priorities.

02

Map the talent market

Build target-company and candidate maps by sector, technology, location and talent movement to test actual supply.

03

Target and assess

Run confidential outreach around real business scenarios, assessing expertise, communication and organisation fit together.

04

Accelerate decisions

Shorten feedback and decision paths while coordinating interviews, offers and post-join role integration.

Delivery outcome

A ten-person sales and support operation went live across four Japanese cities without the client first building an HR and payroll function in Japan. Merchant acquisition pace and field support capacity could be planned against each other from day one.

Organisation impact

The objective went beyond filling roles: TAC connected role design, market intelligence, decision speed and team collaboration to build organisation capability that could continue supporting the business.
