The short answer: use Singapore as a regional hub, then design the talent footprint around business outcomes and work location
Roles that need proximity to customers, products or regulators can sit in Singapore; scalable development, operations and specialist support can connect to talent networks in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia. With Singapore as group headquarters and Shanghai as the Greater China delivery centre, one Tech Alliance consultant and delivery network supports recruitment, IT projects, HR consulting and onsite-plus-offshore delivery.
How to read Singapore's official wage data
Singapore MOM's Occupational Wages 2025 tables were released in June 2026 and cover full-time resident employees. The figures below are monthly gross wage at the 25th percentile, median and 75th percentile in Singapore dollars for June 2025; bonuses are excluded. They are useful for initial market planning, not a quote for any candidate.
Monthly gross wages for AI, software and engineering talent
The same title can move materially by sector, experience, business accountability, languages, company size and work-pass conditions. Scarce skills, regional scope, client communication and people leadership generally require planning above the median.
- AI / machine-learning engineer: S$8,000 / S$10,700 / S$14,046
- Data scientist: S$7,857 / S$10,110 / S$13,727
- Software developer: S$5,994 / S$7,808 / S$11,092
- Software and applications manager: S$9,243 / S$12,500 / S$16,816
- Enterprise, solution or software architect: S$9,579 / S$13,614 / S$17,746
- Mechanical engineer: S$4,615 / S$6,015 / S$8,209
- Electrical engineer: S$4,748 / S$6,042 / S$7,643
- Electronics engineer: S$5,976 / S$8,200 / S$10,967
SAP requires a separate hiring-budget view
MOM does not publish a standalone SAP consultant occupation in this table. Based on module depth, S/4HANA, implementation versus AMS, client communication and regional delivery accountability, TAC uses an initial monthly base-salary planning range of S$7,000–S$12,000 for SAP consultants and S$10,000–S$16,000+ for leads, architects and managers. These are TAC recruitment-planning bands, not MOM statistics or salary guarantees.
- Functional: FI/CO, SD, MM, PP, EWM, SuccessFactors and industry-process depth
- Technical: ABAP, BTP, integration, data migration, authorisation, security and testing
- Delivery leadership: S/4HANA roadmap, regional templates, vendor governance and Japanese/English/Chinese stakeholders
- AMS teams: defined service scope, SLA, escalation paths and onsite-plus-offshore ownership
Engineering recruitment is not synonymous with software
Manufacturing, electronics, semiconductor, automotive and equipment businesses in Singapore and Asia also need mechanical design, electrical, electronics, control, embedded, validation, quality, production-engineering and field-service talent. TAC has completed relevant search and recruitment work in Japan, Singapore and wider Asia, either for individual hires or combined local-interface and regional engineering-delivery teams.
One team across Greater China, Southeast Asia, Japan and Korea
The market positioning of each website differs, but the delivery capability comes from one regional team. Singapore leads regional commercial and client coordination; Shanghai connects talent and delivery resources across mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan; Japan and Korea support Northeast Asia; and India and Southeast Asia add software, engineering and operational depth. Contracting, supervision, data and accountability still need to be designed for the actual work location.
Work-pass and data disclaimer
Resident wage statistics are not the qualifying salary for an Employment Pass or another work pass. Pass criteria vary by age, sector and policy and must be assessed separately with COMPASS and other requirements. This guide is general market and budget-planning information—not an individual salary quote, hiring guarantee, or legal, tax or immigration advice.
